Black Belts are Build One Class at a Time
Now that the weather is finally starting to change, we are experiencing a resurgence in motivation as the winter blues begin to fade. Typically, at this time of year, kids can get that “spring fever” and be a little busier than usual, however, April 2026 has proven to be different!
Last week, we hit a class attendance record as students buckled down and ramped up their training despite the warmer weather, seasonal flus, and March Break vacations. This is a huge milestone, as it’s clear that our students at First Choice Martial Arts are as driven and motivated as ever.
This week, we also launched our yearly Ignite Your Potential Fireworks Ticket Draw. Students will receive a ticket for good attendance and be entered into our prize challenge, with the lucky winner being drawn on May 14th. In addition, students can earn up to three extra tickets by completing and returning their Karate word searches before the draw.
On another note, sparring classes have seen a recent boost, as students witnessed some competitive matches at the March 14th graduation ceremony. These classes run on Mondays at 7:00 PM, and every Saturday and Sunday at 10:40 AM. If you are a yellow belt or higher, this is something you are eligible to participate in. We recommend watching a class first, and if it interests you, let us know and we can make sure your gear is ordered so you can begin training.
This week is also Green Stripe testing, and we are working to ensure all students know their forms from start to finish so we can begin incorporating power and intensity over the next two months. With our next graduation scheduled for Saturday, June 20th, we want to be fully prepared and the sooner students know their forms, the better it will be for everyone.
With all that in mind, let’s keep pushing the pace, paying attention to every little detail, and continuing this amazing attendance. If you are away or sick, please let us know so we can ensure your progress continues. We’re here to help if you need extra support so you don’t feel behind.
Keep up the great work and always remember, “Black Belts Are Built One Class at a Time!”
